Information

Building on the successful hosting of the UCLG World Congress in 2022 and the Global Innopolis Forum in 2023, the City of Daejeon is establishing the Global Innopolis Network Initiative this year. The Global Innopolis Network Initiative includes six founding member cities: Daejeon (South Korea), Dortmund (Germany), Hsinchu (Taiwan), Malaga (Spain), Montgomery County (MD, USA), and Seattle (USA). This initiative aims to unite innovative cities globally to foster sustainable economic development and urban innovation through science and technology-based inter-city collaborations, with a special focus on R&D partnerships and business support for startups and SMEs.

This year marks a significant milestone for the Global Innopolis Network Initiative. To commemorate its launch, the event will include the Inaugural Ceremony for Global Innopolis Network Initiative, the Global Innopolis Forum, and Global Tech-Biz Day. These events will take place alongside Start-up Investment Week (SIW), Daejeon's largest annual start-up festival, which is expected to attract over 2,000 participants. Attendees will include representatives from local governments and key stakeholders from industry, academia, and research, including start-ups, investment institutions, and support agencies.
